Imagine Texting Your Pediatrician at 8 PM: A New Era of Care in Louisville
You know the drill. Your little one spikes a fever, or a weird rash appears right after dinner. You wait on hold the next morning, squeeze into a packed waiting room, and after all that, you get maybe 10 minutes with the doctor. You leave with half your questions unanswered, driving home and turning to Google for the rest.
I know exactly how that feels, because I’ve been there—not just as a pediatrician, but as a mom to two medically complex children.
Why I Left the Traditional System
For years, I worked in the traditional hospital system. But the driving force behind opening Little Hearts Pediatrics came from experiencing that same system from the other side of the stethoscope as a patient and a mother.
Even with my children seeing fantastic doctors, I frequently felt like there just wasn't enough time to address all my concerns and questions. I actually found myself Googling medical questions instead of having direct access to our specialists—and I'm a doctor. Add in the pushback I’d receive at work just for taking time off to attend my kids' appointments, and I realized something fundamental had to change.
There had to be a better way. A way for me to be both a better physician and a better mom.
A Practice Designed for Both of Us
That "better way" is why I brought the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model to Louisville. DPC is essentially a membership model for your child's health that removes insurance middlemen and red tape from the exam room.
One of my absolute favorite things about pediatrics is the ability to follow patients throughout their lives and build deep, lasting relationships. At Little Hearts Pediatrics, I believe I have at least two patients in every visit: the child and the parent. My goal isn't just to treat a symptom and rush to the next room; it’s to provide excellent, comprehensive care for your child while taking the time to genuinely address your concerns and fears.
What "Different" Actually Looks Like
By stepping outside the traditional fee-for-service system, I purposefully keep my patient panel small so I can offer the kind of care every family deserves. Here is what that looks like in practice:
Direct access when you need it: If you have a question at 8 PM, you don't call a random answering service. You text, call, or email me directly.
Unhurried visits: We don't do 10-minute appointments. We schedule the time we actually need so you never feel rushed out the door.
Same-day or next-day care: When your child is sick, you shouldn't have to wait days or go to an urgent care clinic to be seen.
A relationship-first approach: You will always see me, your doctor, who knows your child's history, personality, and family dynamics.
Let's Do Pediatrics Differently
Whether we're navigating a common cold, a complex medical need, or just the everyday anxieties of parenting, you deserve a pediatrician who actually has the time to listen.
